My Story In 2019, while in massage school, I fell in love with prenatal massage. I loved learning about the way our bodies change to create new life and the ways I could impact my client by bringing relief and healing. I also loved talking with my pregnant clients, learning about their experience and sharing my knowledge. I have always been fascinated by pregnancy and birth and have loved caring for children. At the age of 12 I took the Red Cross babysitter training and started making money on hours I spent playing with and caring for children. (now I can't imagine leaving my child in the care of a 12 year old but I am so grateful I had those experiences.) After massage school it was my goal to specialize in prenatal and postpartum massage, so I took extra trainings and requested my coworkers refer their pregnant clients to me. Soon it was what I was known for and I loved it, but I wanted more. During the pandemic, I began researching things I could do alongside massage and doula work came onto my radar. I had never heard of it before and was amazed at what a revolutionary service it was. I began looking into trainings and took Dona International birth training in 2021, later that year I was cross certified through ProDoula and certified as a postpartum doula as well. I began working as in independent contractor with Emerald City Doulas and got the experience I needed to grow and establish my doula work. After becoming pregnant I took some time off at the end of 2022 to welcome my amazing child into the world, I even hired a birth and a postpartum doula for myself. January 2023 I jumped right back into my work, transitioning to working life with a small child. 2024 I had the privilege of training through IAIM as a Certified Educator of Infant Massage and have loved every second of teaching families a new ways to bond with their babies through loving intentional touch.
More Personal Life is an ongoing discovery of self and I have had the joy and occasional frustration of learning about my own identity. I am asexual, biromantic and non-binary, I generally refer to myself as queer and it is a large part of my life. I am my children's parent and they call me Momo. I find so much joy in becoming a parent outside of the binary. The birthing world can be daunting, triggering, and sometimes dangerous for those of us who don't identify as women, I strive to be an amazing advocate for all trans and non-binary birthers. I am also constantly working to normalize asking pronouns and using neutral language with healthcare providers and fellow birth workers.
My Beliefs: I believe every person deserves to have the best pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience they can, and I aim to help facilitate that through my massage and doula work. Working with people going through the process of bringing a new life into the world is my passion. Whole Body Birth is a dream I have had since massage school in 2019 and I am so excited to finally be supporting families. There are many ways people go through the process of pregnancy or welcoming a new baby and I want to use the skills I have learned to help them, no matter the individual process they may be going through. Looking Forward: I plan to keep learning, growing my skills and evolving to meet the needs of my clients. I am interested in furthering my prenatal specialties and becoming a certified childbirth educator.
